• Scripture- We believe that the 66 books which comprise the Old and New Testament Scriptures are the inerrant, infallible, inspired Word of God, as originally written.  We believe God’s revelation to mankind is complete; no further inspired documents will be given and none exist. The Bible is the supreme authority in all matters and is our final authority for faith and practice.  We believe Scripture must be interpreted naturally, as one would understand any other literature. (Ps 119:160; Mt 5:18; 1 Thess 2:13; 2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:19-21)

  • The Trinity- We believe in one God, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Gen 1:26; Mt 28:19; Mk 1:10-11; Jn 14:16-17, 26; 15:26;
    1 Cor 12:4-6; 2 Cor 13:14; Eph 4:4-6; 1 Pet 1:2; 3:18; 1 Jn 5:7-8)

  • God the Father- We believe that God the Father is the creator of all things, self-existent, infinite, eternal, and unchanging.  He is sovereign, everywhere present, all knowing, almighty, and absolutely perfect.  He is the source of all truth, love, goodness, grace, and holiness. He is the supreme ruler of the universe.  He providentially directs the affairs of history according to the purposes of His will. (Mal 2:10; Mt 6:9-14; 24:36; 26:53; Mk 13:32; Jn 10:25-30; Acts 1:7;
    2 Cor 1:3; Heb 12:9; 2 Jn 1:3)

  • God the Son- We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man.  We believe that He lived a sinless life that fully pleased His Father; that He died for our sins on the cross, bearing the judgment demanded by God’s Holy Justice against sin.  We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead, never to die again, and is ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes as High Priest and Advocate on behalf of all who believe in Him.  He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth to judge men. (Isa 9:6-7; 43:10; Mt 1:23; 26:64; Lk 3:21-22; Jn 1:1, 14; 8:58; Rom 8:34;
    2 Cor 5:21; Col 1:15-22; 2:9; 1 Tim 2:5; Titus 2:13; Heb 1:8-12; 4:14-15; 1 Pet 3:22; 1 Jn 5:20)

  • God the Holy Spirit- We believe that the Holy Spirit is the person of the Godhead who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement; and, that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the Family of God, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.  He teaches spiritual truths according to the written Word and gifts all believers for service in order to glorify God and edify the Body of Christ. (Lk 24:49; Jn 14:16-17, 26; 16:7-13; Acts 1:4-5, 8; 2:1-4; 1 Cor 2:12-14; 14:12, 26; Eph 1:13-14; 1 Pet 4:10-11)

  • Man- We believe that man is created in the image of God. We believe in the sanctity of all human life from natural conception to natural death.  Human dignity sets man apart from all other created beings.  Through Adam’s act of disobedience all mankind are sinful and deserving of eternal punishment by God. We believe that in his sinful state, man can do nothing to save himself.  A person is saved by God’s grace through repentance and personal faith, on the basis of the finished work of Christ. Man is granted eternal life and sealed by the power and promise of God. There is nothing that a truly saved individual can do to lose his salvation. (Gen 1:26-27; Jn 1:12; 3:16; Acts 2:39; Rom 3:23-24, 8:30; 1 Cor. 1:9; 1 Thess 2:12; 1 Pet 2:9, 5:10; 2 Pet 1:3)

  • The Church- We believe the Church is the Body of Christian believers set apart to God, of whom Christ is the Head.  The Church is not an organization, it is an organism; it is not a building or program of activities, it is the people.  The Church gathers in local assemblies to carry out the work of Christ on Earth.  The Lord commanded us to make disciples through teaching, fellowship, prayer, and service.  The New Testament gives the Church two ordinances that we are to follow: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Mt 26:26-29; 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 2:42; Rom 12:4-5; 1 Cor 1:2; 12:12-14;  Eph 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 4:4; Col 1:17-18; Heb 10:24-25)

  • Separation of the Believer- We believe that Christians should maintain a godly testimony and live in such a way that their lives do not bring reproach upon their Savior. God commands His people to separate from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations. (Rom 12:1-2; 2 Cor 6:14-7:1; Eph 5:3-11; 2 Tim 3:1-5; Jas 1:27; 1 Pet 1:14-16)

  • The Last Things- We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ to consummate the eternal plan of God. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the literal existence of Heaven and of Hell. (Eccl 12:14; Dan 12:2-3; Matt 12:36-37; 25:31-46; Jn 5:26-29; Acts 17:31, 24:15; Rom 14:10-12; 1 Cor 4:5; 2 Cor 5:10; 2 Thess 1:5-10; Jude 5-7; Rev 21:1-8)

  • UCF does not represent Calvinism or Arminianism. We will fairly defend the biblical teachings on the Sovereignty of God and the Freedom of Man. We believe that the Holy Scriptures communicate both man’s responsibility to choose, and God’s electing purposes in the saving of each soul. We will not teach double predestination, Hyper-Calvinism, or any doctrine that will stifle God’s call to evangelize the lost. We will not teach that man can believe on the Lord Jesus without the drawing of the Holy Spirit, Open Theism, or any doctrine that will minimize the sovereign purposes of God Almighty. (Josh 24:15; Mk 8:34; Jn 6:44; 20:31; Acts 16:31; Rom 3:10-18; 8:29-30; 10:9-10; Eph 1:4-5)

In the essentials, Unity;

In the non-essentials, Liberty;

In all things, Charity.
