Welcome to UCF!

Thanks for visiting our site, we hope that you’ll find what you’re looking for. Our desire is that all of what you find will lead you to follow Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. This is the purpose and motivation behind all that we do at UCF- that we fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20) in making disciples, followers of Christ. If you would like to know more about Jesus, we’d like to give you that opportunity.

In 2014, several families began meeting together in a back yard here in Douglas. Over the course of the next few weeks a core group formed and as the group grew, so did our need for a building. For the next few months we became known as the “Barn Church,” as our church services were held in a barn a few miles west of Douglas. As fall turned to winter, we found it necessary to move back to Douglas where we met in several different locations. God has since blessed us to be in the building we are now located in. From day one our commitment has been to glorify God through humble submission to Christ and to each other. We have witnessed pride in our lives and in those within His Church that has led to disunity. But God’s redemptive work has brought us to a renewed vision for worshipping Christ in Douglas. We believe the key is unity. You can learn more about who we are and what we believe in other areas of this site, but we have committed to the type of unity that is taught in Philippians 2:2-3 which says, “Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” We believe that unity comes through humble submission to Christ’s leading in our lives individually, and in our church corporately.

UCF is a non-denominational church that is committed to teaching and preaching God’s Word and Christian fellowship. We believe that His Word, the Bible, is relevant today and it alone has the power to save through the work of the Holy Spirit. We hope that you’ll join us in worship. If you have any questions about UCF or what it means to be a Christian, please feel free to email us at douglas.ucf@gmail.com.
